What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my family. We spend a lot of time at our lake place on Little Cormorant year-round. We have friends and family at the lake for pontoon
rides, fishing, campfires, and grilling or smoking meats. In the winter, we enjoy snowmobiling and sledding. The garage is a man cave with big screens for gaming.

I’ve also raised and shown standard poodles for about 30 years. I’m grooming or training one of my dogs at least one night per week. I was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the FM Kennel Club and now have a key to the kennel club
training building!

Tell us about your favorite life experience.

My children. Having kids is the coolest thing I’ve ever done. After that, I have a lot of other favorites: finding my husband, Allen; winning an Owner Handled Best in
Show with my standard poodle puppy; getting to grow up on a lake near Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; and having great people in my life.

What is your favorite movie/play/book?
Recently I’ve enjoyed a trilogy by Nisha Tuli. The first book in the series is The Trial of the Sun Queen. It’s an easy-reading fantasy with lots of twists and turns.

My all-time favorite theatrical experience was seeing Wicked at the Nederlander Theatre in Chicago with my cousin and our girls in the early 2000s.

What was the first car you owned?
An Opel Manta. She was a 1970s vintage with a manual transmission, torn seats, and maroon oxidized paint, but man, the places we went. After I “graduated” to a newer car, my uncle and cousins modified her and ran her in ice races on Big Detroit Lake.

How long have you been at Heartland Trust Company?
Since October 2025.

What is your favorite part about working at Heartland Trust Company?
The client-focused culture is a big draw for me.

Do you have a favorite recipe you would like to share?
My former mother in law, Evy Springer, currently 97 years old, shared many recipes with me. A family favorite is:
Olive Nut Dip
I jar sliced green olives (chopped)
I brick softened cream cheese
½ C mayonnaise (not Miracle Whip)
½ C chopped pecans
A dash of pepper
I like Wheat Thins with it, but Ritz are great too!
